Into the West

Jun 30th, 2009 by bruce | 0

We are on the road Wednesday, July 1st.  We would not venture out the front door if we didn’t know God was going before us and you were going with us in prayer!  We hope to be blogging on our website:  www.onechurchonetribe.com and posting pictures.  So please check in from week to week (or day to day!)  There will be times that we won’t have internet access, but the silence doesn’t mean inactivity.  So please continue to pray.

God is not reluctant to pour out His power, but he responds to believing prayer and trusting hearts.  Let us stand together in faith believing His Spirit will be at work to build His church, His Kingdom, and we have the joy of getting in on what He is doing!  Pray for His power and presence to be unleashed among the Native people of this land, that His extravagant grace and extreme mercy will penetrate the hopelessness and darkness that threaten so many hearts.

The first lap or our journey will be on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, in Oglala.  We’ll be meeting up with the Iowa team from Colfax Center PC and Faith PC to work with Makasan Presbyterian Church, Rev. Asa and Tresita Wilson.

From Pine Ridge we “sprint” further west to Warm Springs, Oregon on the Warm Springs Reservation to work with teams representing Sacred Road Ministries, Chris and Mary Granberry.  Last summer was Sacred Road’s first year to send teams to Warm Springs and God moved in an incredible way.  We can’t wait to get back to see friends and see what God has in mind this summer.

From Warm Springs, we join Chris and Mary Granberry on the Yakama reservation for a week and then back down to Warm Springs to work with another team on that reservation.

That takes us to the end of July!  We’ll have a few days with our son Mark and his family (Lacey, WA) before turning east again.  We’ll be another month on the road, making many stops on our way towards home.  We’ll fill in those blanks for you soon.

Thank you again for going with us.  Life with our King is never dull and we delight in hanging onto to His coattails as He leads us moment by moment.  We’d love to hear what He’s doing in your life too!! Please keep in touch.  In His love…always,   Bruce and Linda
